About Us

Quest Reliability’s unique combination of services and products distinguishes the company among its peers in the areas of fitness-for-service, reliability management, life prediction and extension, structural integrity and specialty NDT. Quest Reliability has consistently provided technical leadership in the field, depth of experience, focused and creative products and technological innovation. Some of our representative strengths are summarized below.
- Internationally recognized expertise in Fitness-For-Service (FFS) assessment: One of our senior staff is a world-renowned expert in computational mechanics, and author of the leading textbook on Fracture Mechanics. Our technical leaders have been integral in the thought leadership and development of the methodology underlying the prevailing standard of practice in this area, API 579-1/ASME FFS-1.
- Deep and complementary skills in structural integrity engineering: our related skill portfolio includes remaining life assessment for a diverse range of static and rotating assets, metallurgy, corrosion, and general condition assessment expertise. Most of our staff have advanced degrees in their respective fields, with about 40% having earned a Ph.D.
- Peerless reliability management expertise in the synthetic gas industry: our Asset Management group has performed Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) of more than 3,000 assets in syngas plants, especially in the ammonia industry. Complementing this RBI experience volume is historical senior plant management experience in most cases with our staff members. No other group has this same level of experience, operator empathy and specialized expertise.
- Specialization in high temperature plant: from our high temperature-capable materials testing laboratories, to our analytical expertise for Fitness-For-Service equipment damaged by high temperature corrosion, to our proprietary lab and experience-based databases on high temperature creep, to our unique LifeQuest™ products for process heaters, reformers and high energy piping, our company is uniquely qualified in the disciplines required with infrastructure subjected to thermally aggressive operating conditions.
- Extensive experience in fitness-for-service, reliability management, life prediction and extension, structural integrity and specialty NDT. Quest Reliability and its predecessor organizations have been prominent providers of these highly specialized, knowledge and technology-based services for more than 25 years. During this time, our staff members have gained reputations for technical excellence and cost-effective solutions for projects globally.
- Unique integrated solutions for the refining, petrochemical, syngas, power generation and power transmission and pipeline industries, packaging knowledge with proprietary software, instrumentation and materials databases. For example, Quest Reliability’s LifeQuest™ line of products provides customers with a remaining life solution which leverages our proprietary FEA software; operator-intuitive data assimilation, management and presentation utilities, and advanced NDT and inspection services through our sister company Quest TruTec.
- To meet the condition assessment and precision measurement needs of our customers, Quest Reliability has developed a highly specialized suite of proprietary specialty NDT tools, including:
- In-line inspection tools for high-temperature tubes and small diameter piping in refineries and process plants
- External pipe and tube inspection tools
- Advanced ultrasonic measurement systems, and
- Innovative crack detection instruments.
Quest Reliability is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Quest Integrity Group, LLC.
