Job Description
Title: Senior Consulting Engineer, Exempt
reports to: Lead US Structural Integrity
function: This position is responsible for providing technical expertise related to structural integrity work primarily in, but not limited to, the petrochemical, power, and pipeline industries.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Carry out technical work related to structural integrity, including fitness for service assessment and failure analysis.
2. Generate commercial income for the Structural Integrity Group.
3. Be involved in proposal writing and costing of technical structural integrity projects.
4. Manage projects, budgets and deliverables.
5. Approve and sign off of projects to ensure high quality work is delivered to clients.
6. Develop new methodologies for structural assessment and failure analysis.
7. Identify and create opportunities for structural integrity.
8. Visit clients with the aim to promote capabilities and products.
9. Be involved in supervision and training of new staff.
10. Assist senior management team in strategic development of the business.
11. Participate in future business planning and capabilities.
12. Present capabilities at conferences and seminars as agreed with team manager.
13. Perform other job duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT
1. Requires a Doctorate Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Materials Engineering.
2. Extensive knowledge and expertise in fitness for service assessment and failure analysis.
3. Must possess excellent analytical and communication (both oral and written) skills.
4. Strong knowledge of MS Office and Abaqus and some programming skills, particularly in Fortran.
5. Extensive mathematical skills required, including finite element analysis (FEA).
6. Ability to think creatively, conduct themselves with diplomacy, and maintain confidentiality.
7. Capable of providing strong supervisory, organizational and leadership skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is expected to be in office environment with site visits to industry environments. Some expected travel, both domestically and internationally.
