Ted L. Anderson

Dr. Anderson has over 25 years of experience as a teacher, researcher, and practitioner of fracture mechanics and fitness - for-service methods. Prior to joining Quest Reliability (2006) and founding his own firm (1995), he was a member of the Mechanical Engineering faculty at Texas A&M University for 10 years.
Before coming to Texas A&M, he was a Senior Research Engineer at The Welding Institute in Cambridge, England. He received a Ph.D. in metallurgy from the Colorado School of Mines in 1983.
He is the author of the best-selling book on fracture mechanics, which is now in its third edition. His book has been adopted as a required text in over 100 universities throughout the world. Dr. Anderson was instrumental in the development of the API 579 fitness-for-service document.
He is active on American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Committee E-8 on Fatigue and Fracture and is a former Regional Editor for the International Journal of Fracture.
