LifeQuest™ Heater Components:
1. Furnace tube inspections
Using technology proprietary to our sister company, Quest TruTec, we inspect for deformation, creep, wall thickness, presence of flaws, ovality, etc. Two systems are used, FTIS™ (furnace tube inspection system), an advanced UT-based, intelligent pig inspection system, and LOTIS® (laser optical tube inspection system), an internal laser profilometry inspection tool. The objectives of these inspections are to determine the location of degradation, size and rate of damage, and conditions that affect degradation. These tools are also coupled with recording and visualization software, and produce detailed contour maps showing the location, nature and severity of damage or degradation.
2. Fitness-for-Service and Remaining Life Assessment
The LifeQuest™ Heater solution includes Fitness-for-service engineering assessments and remaining life assessment in accordance with API 579-1/ASME FFS-1/2007. The LifeQuest™ software not only performs the analysis and assessments of heater components in accordance with Sections 5 (Local Metal Loss) and Section 10 (Creep), but also includes Monte Carlo simulation to account for variability in operating conditions. The assessment includes 100% of the data and analysis from the furnace tube inspection, providing comprehensive assessment of current and future operating risk for each furnace tube.
